The St. Mary’s School Board is seeking applicants for the 2010-2013 term. Applicants must possess a genuine commitment to Catholic School Education, its mission, and preservation for future generations. In addition, interested persons must have a willingness to work effectively with others. Applicants should have a proneness to share their time, talent and expertise. Application deadline is April 5th.

All nominees for the Board membership must possess the following attributes:
A genuine commitment to Catholic school education, its mission and its future
Expertise in one or more areas that contribute to the Board’s work
-finance
-development
-planning/policy formation
-public relations
-facilities
A willingness and ability to make a substantial time commitment to the work of the Board
-Monthly meetings September through May
-All Board members will serve on one Board committee
A willingness to attend periodic in-service programs
A willingness to support school, parish, and Archdiocesan policy and to comply with all STAND requirements
A willingness and the ability to maintain high levels of integrity and appropriate confidentiality
A willingness and ability to be credible witnesses of the Catholic faith to the school, community and parish.
Members of The School Board generally serve for a term of three years with the possibility of a second term
In order to avoid actual or apparent conflicts of interest, current employees of the school/parish (or their immediate families) are ineligible to serve as voting members of the Board.
Parents of current students must comprise less than one-quarter of the voting membership.
Each candidate for the School Board must submit the on-line application.
Each application will be reviewed by The Membership Committee. Final decisions and notification will take place in June 2010.
